Others A Special Place for Wildlife in our city: Mud Lake

Situated in the west end of the city along the Ottawa River is a conservation area where the wildlife gather. Britannia Conservation Area, Mud Lake, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Almost every variety of wildlife visits here even Black Bears. Just yesterday I came across a pair of Northern Leopard Frogs (Lithobates pipiens) that let me take their picture.

Oh great ! I saw some frogs near my home but it's too hard to get closer ... they jump in the water if i'm too close, impossibl to take good pictures

I find some frogs to be very skittish and then some just don't give a damn if their picture is taken

One of my most favourite encounters at Mud Lake was this Muskrat (Ondatra zibethicus) Britannia Conservation Area, Mud Lake, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Canada Geese congregate at Mud Lake and all over the city during migration period. Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) Britannia Conservation Area, Mud Lake, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
