Hi there, Helix_2648 Helix_2648 still experimenting with coin macros found this American coin to be the most tricky when coming to sharpness. I find the Canadian coins much easier to shoot :D

I will be really interested to see what the other Greg comes up with shooting the Euro...I have a bag of European coins that I am just itching to get my hands on to photograph...maybe next week I will feature them

Greg Shchepanek Greg Shchepanek do you generally never edit your pictures? So you don't use Lightroo or Photoshop? Because of the principle itself or why you are not interested in post-processing? This would really help you to improve the image quality.

Sort of feel that it is not representative of the photographing process experience to do a bunch of image editing effects I would much rather learn to photograph my subjects better through learning and getting great advice for you guys to make me a better photographer instead of being a photoshop/Lightroom wiz...I can already create what I want in Photoshop if need be...I wish to become a better photographer and setup the magic shots.

I really respect your vision of things and I know some colleagues who says the same as you. But I've learned that the sensor does not always deliver what the eye perceives. So I devide it into two parts. Just smaller improvements like shadows or highlights and maybe sharpness, or the whole package in PS. I often don't have the feeling, that my pictures represent what I've seen. Especiallay if you think about focus stacking.

But again... I respect your opinion and I like your pictures as they are!

It is so easy to create whatever you wish in Photoshop...you can have dolphins dancing on the moon if you wish it...I see Photoshop as creation software and only image edit for work purposes to get the final magic photo for print but I wish my photo visions to be created by the camera and me playing with the light to get my effects.
