Found these ants yesterday and couldn't figure out what they were doing.
After researching i got the answer, they tend the caterpillar and keep parasites away in exchange for honeydew, cool.

Great to see Willy, we have a few insects here in Thailand with symbiotic relationships like this, it is always fascinating to sit and watch. We have ants that feed off of the honeydew from mealybugs, which is very similar to your images here.
Great shots of our fascinating world, in which we never stop learning..
