Hairs are very problematic as they produce halos in the stacked image. There is a technique to do sub-stacks, but haven't tried yet.
Other issues come from the number of dust particles the insects have, not visible to naked eyes. I haven't tried more advanced cleaning techniques such as alcohol, or even ultrasonic baths. I use a thin brush to remove the particles from eyes and other parts, but the result depends on each case. Insects such as beetles are easier to clean. Hairy insects are the most challenging.
