Lens Canon 50mm F1.2 vs canon 50mm f1.8

Hello.

I’m planning to get a new lens for portrait photography and close up. And I already have canon 50mm f1.8 , but was looking now at 50mm f1.2 due of better image quality and shallow depth of field. What do you think, would you recommend to get f1.2 version ?

I don’t want to spend , I just would like to have a better quality. I have checked the YouTube and other reviews, it does look ok, but not sure if it’s worth the money.

if you are willing to spend 1 grand on the Canon 50mm f/1.2, I would take a look at the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art.

The thing is i already have canon 50mm f1.4. So i don't thing sigma will be somehow different from what i have.

The f/1.2 lens is for sure greatbut from my point of view it makes no sense to buy it, if you've already a f/1.4 lens. The difference is for sure not very big.

Then i might buy the Ef 24-70 ii L f. 2.8 for close ups. What do you think?

You can find the 1.2 cheaper on eBay. That's what I did. No regrets!

Thanks. I usually don't buy anything from ebay and prefer to save extra and purchase brand new lens. At the moment looking at different lens to buy. Which is a bit more expensive.
