Please observe this picture. These cats have just changed instars. Hence the exuvia is lying there. The exuvia is a high protein food source for these butterfly cats, and would be consumed as soon the caterpillar is mobile. (it takes a little time for the exoskeleton to dry up, and the cat is immobile till such time).
