I am very fortunate to have this conservation area in my city of Ottawa...it is an oasis of nature in the bustle of the urban city. Midland Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta marginata) Britannia Conservation Area, Mud Lake, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Eastern Garter Snake (Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis) Britannia Conservation Area, Mud Lake, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

The Sentinel: American Bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus) Britannia Conservation Area, Mud Lake, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Hanging out at Britannia Conservation Area all pictures taken on July 28, 2019.

Yes Jack, all by me with just an hour at the Conservation Area it is just brimming with wildlife in the summers. It is also an important birding area for the Ottawa Valley. Thank you so much for the forum...is it possible to move all my special place posts here? That would be greatly appreciated

One of Ontario's most beautiful Conservation Areas' is a Fen located just South of Algonquin Provincial Park: Purdon Conservation Area, Lanark, Ontario, Canada. Showy Lady's Slippers Orchid (Cypripedium reginae) I go every year to see the spectacular super bloom of these wild orchids.

Canon EOS M100 • EF-M28mm f/3.5 MACRO IS STM • ƒ/5.0 28.0 mm 1/125 100 Flash (off, did not fire)
I should have used the flash in this situation of the dark fen.
