has anyone used this software for creating focus stacking ? or for anything else

Hi BrianG
If you mean digiCam control I use it a fair bit.
It is great for stacking and also for tethering a camera to a computer. If memory serves, It is only available for Canon, Nikon and Sony.
Takes a bit of learning to use it properly (and it`s free).

connects and works well with my camera but think i need to have a bit more play (just wondered if anyone had tried it to see their results)

Unfortunately can't say much here, as I haven't tried. But saw on Facebook, some adverts of new adapter or system which helps you to choose best camera settings. I forgot the name of it, but need to look.
