has anyone used this software for creating focus stacking ? or for anything else

If you mean digiCam control I use it a fair bit.
It is great for stacking and also for tethering a camera to a computer. If memory serves, It is only available for Canon, Nikon and Sony.
Takes a bit of learning to use it properly (and it`s free).
