Here is a photo taken a few weeks ago of a Empusa pennata nymph male of about 5cm lenght.
Handheld shot with D7200 and Laowa 100mm, cobra flash and homemade curved diffuser.
ISO 100, F/11, 1/250s (as usual)

the bg is due to the use of flash and the subject being distant from objects on the bg or has been made solid black in post?

Due to the flash with nothing near from the subject at the back.

Nice shoot , nicly sharp.. and the black background take own climat..
