There are moments when some rules must be disobeyed; the 1/3 rule is not a "must have" and compulsory.

If I remember well I was 20 cm far from it so not that far in my opinion; but for sure it's not a close up photo but more "macro-proxi" photo which is my style generally speaking.

Even if the ladybug is so small the picture and composition works as expected. The attention goes directly to the ladybug and you're right with the 1/3 rule. It's for sure not a "must have".
