Jack i believe that this would be a challenge to take enough pictures to have to whole fly in focus. You would for sure need over 100 pictures for such a magnification.

Helix_2648 I think it is possible but then you have to keep a little more distance from the subject.
And I couldn't take more distance with this photo, there was a fence in the way

For me it working well, then the focus is on the fly's eyes , don't need to be more

nataliaflejszar&Photo , Yes this is made in the garden, sometimes you don't have to go far from home.
Agree, as is macro photography, you can shoot even macro in own room
