a location and date/month goes a long way in trying to id a species. This is a wasp...a location would help me to narrow it down

Shan It was taken in France in July if that helps

Sphecidae species (Thread waisted wasp) IMHO.

Really beautifully captured picture, and lot of great details that take form the picture standing out and is lot of watching.. , not boring picture so.. , I love it!
