Erthesina fullo, this chap is approx 2cm length and quite prevallent here in Thailand. You can usually get quite close and they don't seem bothered by the attention.
The stink bug derives its name from its tendency to eject a foul smelling glandular substance secreted from pores in the thorax when disturbed. The chemicals in some species contain cyanide compounds. (Wikipedia)
These were caught on Canon R5, Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2x macro, Canon Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT, f/11, 1/100sec, ISO400 and each image is a series of 5 handheld shots stacked in Affinity photo and processed further in Photoshop.

Did he eject the smell too when you take pictures of him? he seemed aware with your camera.
No smell ejected thankfully, I don't want a face full of anything with cyanide in it. :) Mainly they just ignore you, as I don't believe they perceive you as a threat if you don't poke and prod them. They are aware of your presence and sometimes spin around to look straight at you, but if they get bored of you they just fly away.

Thankfully šŸ˜„. I still have no luck to take a picture of them.
