Maybe more from the film Species. To answer your question, I didn't do anything to get it so calm and still. It's, like praying mantis, an insect very calm.

You probably could take some macro images of it. I have never seen one og these in real life. I believe they are hard to spot as well because of their colour.

Gorgeous photo. I been reading online that they are predators and can be dangerous for animals.

same as praying mantis. They can catch every small insects that cross their way.

He camouflaged very well! An interesting find! He is very photogenic in the photo.
I always scared to hold Mantis because they look so fragile and thin .

Mantis are less fragile than jumping spiders. You can easily hold them on hands without danger for them.
