The second image is much better than the first, as it is a cleaner image with no artefacts. The composition of image 2 is better also in my opinion, with better use of negative space, as the wasp is looking to the right.
I like the detail and sharpness, but the colours seem a little muted.

I like pictures that invited to immagine a story to it. Picture 2 does that. So for that it is okay. The sharpness is very good and at the right spot: the eyes. The composition is well chosen. The colors....you can make a few steps there. Make the colors right and with a nice contrast.
