The Stoney Swamp Trail System is located in the city of Ottawa's Greenbelt protected lands and is a popular location for outdoor enthusiasts to partake in hiking, biking & just spending time in the woods. There is a network of trails that comprise the swamp complex, they include : Stoney Swamp; Beaver trail, Chipmunk trail; Lime Kiln, Jack Pine & a whole host of other small trails that make up this area of forest located in the city boundaries.

It is always an adventure in the Stoney Swamp there are so many great flora & fauna to discover & come across. I spend so many trips to this area over a given year & I am always surprisingly in wonder over the diverse wildlife found in these woods. The Greenbelt is such a gem in the green spaces of our city.

Our greenbelt are like no other city's. The flora & fauna contained in it is mind boggling. I have seen Bobcats on the prowl in them, the only drawback is that poor wildlife get drawn into the city by them like Bear & Moose
