An amazing plant that are mostly small green balls and the, once a year, small blooms appear which then open presenting red stick like protrusions which peal backwards revealing the pollen. Once they start to open, with patience and a timing device, one can photograph stills of them opening. This is one (50 some stacked images) where the blooms have opened and the stalks are also opening: on the bottom right is one almost completely opened and on the top middle, is one just beginning to open.
