Still getting use to my Canon EF-M28mm f/3.5...it is a nifty little lens even has a light on it.

I have a nifty lens too, love the small pancake, it’s great to shoot macro.

For macro you need a 1:1 magnification lens, look at 100mm non L lens or sigma lenses, I think they affordable

look at the canon 100mm non L version , is much more cheaper, is not weather sealed and has no IS, but results will be good. Please note you will need a tripod with that lens.

My most favourite subject is Tiger Beetles, can't setup a tripod seeing they are the fastest insect on the planet.

Then you need a lens with IS (image stabilisation) Have a look at 100mm f2.8 L IS, this one I got myself. Very great lens.

why would one need a tripod? my macros are mostly handheld with 90mm non VC tammy.....! Just curious.

depends if lens does not have a IS, the tripod is a must
