Mhh good question. Hard to say... I like mostly science fiction movies. Alien and Star Trek and bullshit like this. 
I am the same a major Science Fiction Fan and I enjoy the literature as well ... I think 12 Monkeys is brilliant with its background theme of nature that Terry Gilliam pulled off so nicely and the story is inspired on a French short film La JetƩeMhh good question. Hard to say...
