Greg Shchepanek added a new event:

World Wetlands Day

2 February each year is World Wetlands Day to raise global awareness about the vital role of wetlands for people and our planet. This day also marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea. https://www.worldwetlandsday.org

Wetlands are land areas that are saturated or flooded with water either permanently or seasonally. Inland wetlands include marshes, ponds, lakes, fens, rivers...

February 2nd is World Wetlands Day. Frogs are quintessential amphibians of wetlands. This is one of my favourite photos of a Northern Green Frog (Lithobates clamitans melanota) taken on the Snake River at the Shaw Woodlot, Ontario, Canada. Please consider visiting a wetland on this day. #WorldWetlandsDay

All Ramsar Sites are protected wetland and conserved areas, some are parks, sanctuaries and refuges. These places are havens for diverse Flora & Fauna.
Black-tailed Jackrabbit (Lepus californicus) Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, Nevada, United States. Ramsar site no. 347.
