This caterpillar is currently in the process of becoming a chrysalis. I hope it successfully transforms into the imago, but it will need to overwinter so we won't know until next Spring. Taking name suggestions :)

It was about 9pm and the sun had already set... it was nearly totally dark but I was able to spot this caterpillar with my flashlight.

Elephant Hawk Moth caterpillars are huge! This one reached a good four inches or more! But what a lovely beast!
