Found what I thought was grains of dirt on some discarded material - until they started moving. Really struggled to get a sharp image - new to photography and experimenting with reverse lens - but wanted to share this, as I found it fascinating. Hope you like it. IMG_9547.jpg IMG_9547.jpg

Hi HarryG HarryG , for me seems that first image is much more sharper than second one, I could be wrong as I'm on my phone. Regarding spider, I haven't seen before red spider, how small it is?

It was tiny, literally looked like a grain of dirt - smaller than a grain of rice. The material is red - the baby spider was almost translucent/jelly like in appearance.

Im pretty sure you could achieve better results with a proper macro lens HarryG HarryG

I tried the 105mm lens, but it didn't get anywhere near the same level of magnification. Is there a better macro lens you would recommend? Thanks

The most affordable is 100mm USM simple , If you are based in U.K., you can get it for around Ā£500.

You can check macro lenses here. We will still add more soon.

It doesn't make a big difference to choose the one or the other as both have 1:1 magnification. You can only use additional extension tubes or use a Raynox lens.

Another solution might be the MP-E 65mm lens with a magnification up to 5x or the Laowa 100mm lens with 2x. But both have manual focus!
