Hi Creaswomanonthego Creaswomanonthego ,not bad close up photo at all. But I as I can see there are some blur spots in the image, that’s because of depth of field, also, can I ask you EXIF please as well ? If I’m wrong, your f stop is around 5-7

I found your photo aperture , so I was wrong, it’s f29. Have you used speed light too ?

In this scenario, if you’d like everything from the photo to be in focus, you will need to use stacking techniques. Which is very detailed explained in this tutorial.

There is a pdf file which you can download and read.

I find the blur/DOF distracting too. It doesn't work well with this composition.
IMHO, the blur works if you focus (more) on the top of the needles and less on where the needles start, since they are the first thing that the viewer sees.

Interesting motif but I agree regarding the blurry spots. Focus stacking is the only way how you can fix the shallow depth of field. It's really an interesting technique which you should try.
