I shot it in Western North Carolina in a small community called Scaly Mountain near Highlands, NC. Check out the Highlands Biological Station there.

That's really a scary specimen... Clear, sharp and full of details but nevertheless scary and a bit disgusting. :ROFLMAO: - How have you isolated the larva? Have you placed it on a glass plate with back light illumination?

Yes, I have a small table with a sheet of white glass that I use 2 flashes one over and the other one under. If you go to this site you can see how it is done. Meet Your Neighbours.
