Colour Help/Advice with post-prod

Hi - I've taken this photo which I feel could be pretty good, but I'm struggling to get it 'there'. I've tried stacking 4 or 5 images, darkening the background, upping the saturation and so on, but it all looks too edited. Any suggestions on how to improve it? Feel free to give it a go yourself! Many thanks.

Nikon D7500, 35mm, Raynox DCR-250 F/8 ISO400, 1/1000s

Maybe use a flash, and will get enough light, then you can adjust as much as you need in LR so you don't get noise on your image.
