That's easy... I just use a simple flash light on a travel tripod. That's all...
I placed the hourglass on black paper, positioned the flash light and started to find the right position for my camera Shan Shan

black matte paper or was the matte effect added later?

No it's a matte construction paper for handicrafts. I only changed the picture from colour to B&W and played a little with the sharpness and the contrasts.

And not edited , only exported from RAW to JPG :cool:
Playing with lights and shadows :) .
The another exemple form sarja in forest, by o'clock 10.18pm. Arctic white summer nights light is great to capture mysteric pictures.. :love: , summer nights here aren't for sleeping..:D , busy time for everyone on the North :cool:
