Regarding my few test of soap bubbles photography, the most important to get a nice coloured surface is to have, like most of the time, a great lighting. A big softbox on the top of the bubble, not too close, is a great option if the weather is to bad to let entry enough light.

Good results for the first try Greg78340 ! I would try to add some bokeh effects for the background. The last one is the best and would give a good composition with a blurry bokeh. do you know Glycerine? You can buy it in your local pharmacy. It is also good for more stable water drops. So it might help for soap bubbles as well.
