My name is Ethan Beckler, and I am from Illinois in the United States. I am a full time accountant who is overworked as I work 65+ hours a week an hour from home - have a Masters in Library and Information Science, but would much rather be photographing full time! My favorite macro subjects are : snow crystals, hoar frost, sand garnets, jumping spiders, buttefly and moth wings, and my newfound passion is dew in spider webs. I use only Olympus macro gear, and try to stay away from a rail and objective although I do use it at times when I need above 10x magnification. I am able to get 9.5x magnification with my macro setup without the need of a microscope objective or rail. Here are a few samples for you to see....all taken with a combination of:
Olympus EM1 mark 2 camera
Olympus MC14 or MC20 teleconverter
PIXCO 16 extension tube modified
Olympus 60mm ZUIKO macro lens
Raynox 250/202/or 505
All are stacks done in Helicon between 120-350 images depending on the image.

I will label which Raynox and Teleconverter I used for the image underneath each. Glad to be here!

Wow! You have so many great captures to share. I do so love the Tiger Beetle, my favourite insect. It is so great to have an active American 🇺🇲on the site ... we need more North American representation in the community

How are you able to take a stack of a snow crystal before it starts to melt? Impressive shots!

Olympus EM1 Mark 2 does great quick focus bracketing even with the teleconverter, 60mm macro lens and a Raynox on the end. I keep
Several small sheets of clean glass in a freezer, and then take those and put them in a cooler with Ice packs to then take outside

I have my camera already adapted to the cold weather prior to going outside

catch the flurries and quickly photograph
