It's milk in the base drops were red food dye hence the funny colour was just experimenting with the mix

Not bad image BrianG , maybe try to have the subject in the middle of the frame , I saw Masterjohn has great droplets pictures, he might give a better advice.

I agree to Jack. I would maybe change the background (the picture in total looks too dark to me) and I would put the water column in the middle BrianG. But really well done!
