Regarding laowq lenses .

I saw a lot of macro photographers are using Laowa lenses. Are they better then normal macro lenses? Or it's just marketing?

I also thought about to buy the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO , but the close-up limit is a big problem for me as most bugs or dragonflies are very shy. But I've the same (or even bigger) problem if I use my Raynox lens.

So it really might be a good alternative.... on the other hand the Sigma 105mm macro lens is also a good solution and has a higher close-up limit and costs less money. So at the end it's a questions of magnification. If you mostly take picture with a magnification of 2:1 the Laowa might be a good choice. If you you use use 1:1 magnification the 90mm Tamron, the 105mm Sigma or the 100mm Canon is a better choise.

Then probably is just waste of money if. not shooting extreme macro photography.

With the Laowa lens I want, I am going to photograph dead insects.
And not all lenses fit on an Olympus and the M.Zuiko 60mm macro from Olympus itself is a super lens, but I want to get closer.

Dead insects ? That’s should be interesting , would you look for them, or kill them ?
