Twin flash, ring flash or what else?

Hi all together,

I would like to ask you to post your flash equipment, your diffusors and any kind of tutorial to build one.
There are a lot of informations in the web about this and I read a good artikel about the Meike MK-MT24 twin flash.

I'm especially interested to get more informations about flash light for focus stacking. I think you can only use continous light and no flash, right?

Let's discuss about it. I would also be happy to see some pictures of your equipment as well.

Hi Helix_2648 , I was thinking before to buy a ring flash for my camera, but the cost for it it's quite high, at te moment only using only one flash. But still haven't tried yet any stack techniques.

I think rcorteschile know more about it, as i saw a lot of stacking images from him.

I'm glad right now, usful and helpful.. and can be used too oudside camera because of own batteries.. ..
Olympus has own original too... but is too expencive

If you wish to do focus stacking on living subjects, you will need a flash (whatever the model) with a short recharge time. Personally I manage to do stacking at about 4 frames / s with flash at 1/16 of power and ISO 200. But I use an external battery to reduce the recharge time between two flashes.

I think that this topic is intersting for all of us and especially for me because I've never used a flash and want to get more information about this if you use it with focus stacking.

For me too , because I think to buy something else in the future.., maybe any Godox flash... , becasue I can use it for portraits to.... and is great for olympus cameras...

I think that wathever lighting source you choose, the most important is to get a good diffuser. You can choose a ring flash, twin flashes or cobra flash, it still be the most important for your photos.

If you want to do supermacro focus stacking with automated micrometric rail (dead subjects), you might need continuous lighting instead of flashes.
