Hi, when i gone to the forest I saw this bug, orange and black, on the floor, with ... baby ?
I don't know what is it, if it's babys or other bug which attack ...

But when i get closer, it start to fly away ^^

Looks like a Burying beetle with mite infestation to me. Extremely cool shot.

There's probably something dead nearby. In uni I worked as a field assistant for a bark beetle monitoring project, which was part of a bigger monitoring project of forest animals. Another group placed plastic cups filled with soapy water in the ground as barber ptifall traps. Somehow their field assistant didn't empty the traps often enough I think. When I looked inside there were lots of these Necrophorus beetles, probably attracted by the smell of the other dead insects.

Edit: Just saw L Leraymurat alredy identified it.

Strange picture and interesting story behind it. I've never heard about such a bug nor have I've seen them. Thanks for sharing!

When I saw that I didn't know if it was it's babys or a bug attack. strange ^^ no time to get more shots
