Then my recommendation is to go with Windows laptops, I highly recommend HP Envy laptops only, can't say much about Lenovo or IMac as I never had one.

I will also recommend to buy straight from the company to avoid any issues with third party retailers.
I will continue tomorrow with my search for a new computer. Time to walk the dog and then of to bed. Have a great evening.

I went to a local computer shop and they gave me a quotation for a computer including a 27 inch screen.
This is what they came up with:

Computer: Price € 1156,50
Thermaltake Cove V1
Power Corsair CV650
CPU Intel i7-12700 Box
Ram 2 x 16GB = 32GB
Mainboard B660 ITX
VGA Card MSI GT1030 LP 2GB
SSD Samsung PMGA1 NVME M.2 6900/5000 512GB

Monitor: LG 27UL500W for € 295 or a Samsung 27" ips monitor for €179,50

So total price is either €1451,50 with the LG monitor and €1336 with the Samsung monitor

Price for a good 17 inch laptop is around €1199 and then you only have 16GB of Ram
Have to thin about it and do some more research before making a decision.

The computer looks like this. Height is 27.6cm, width is 26 cm and depth is 31.6 cm image001.jpg

Looks great and definitely worth thinking on.. Just a thought though TMG1961, I have had bad experience with Samsung in the past, suddenly stopping to work and expensive to repair, but I have used LG a lot also with absolutely no problems, so maybe the LG monitor is the better choice.

Only problem is that i need to make a decision within 3 days, that how long the quotation is valid. The setup looks good but i do need a bit more time to check all out and see if i can get a better deal somewhere else. Also i need to keep in mind that a laptop is easier to take with me outside when i sit there under the roof in the shade.

Decisions like this are never straightforward, if you like the portability of a laptop then go with that and maybe later on you can get a docking station with a larger monitor for inside the house. I have a desktop for most of my imaging but have moved mine around the house so many times now it becomes a pain. I also use a laptop, which I find I use more often than the desktop during the day just because I can sit anywhere or take it with me if I go away for a few days.
Am sure you will choose the best option for yourself. Happy shopping :)

If you have room for proper set up , then go for it, if you want something more compact and option to have the laptop with you, then I would go for a laptop.

These specs are very good, and the price isn’t that bad.

My desk is 1.5 m wide and the depth is 0.75 m. So there is enough room to put a 27 inch screen on it with a pc next to it. Still thinking about what option to go for. Also looking online for other options.

Then I would say go for PC option if you have enough room, bigger screen definitely will make difference when editing images. A laptop is good because is small and you can carry it with you .

I stopped looking for today. It is driving me nuts, too many options to choose from. And with monitors it is even more difficult. I will take a few days of from searching and have another go during the weekend.
