Manul flash or TTL?

When comes to macro photography, what lens are you choosing? Ttl or manual flash? Personally I have my TTL, I think makes my life easier when comes for shootings

Hi Jack, TTL is really a great feature but don't work for diffuser solutions. TTL or E-TTL means "(Enhanced) Through The Lens" but how should the camera know that you reduce the calculated flash power by using a diffuser. The pictures would always be underexposed and therefor you will need to switch to manual mode.

I prefer to use the manual mode even if I need some tries to find the right setting for me.

Thanks Helix_2648 , I did not knew that TTL doesn’t work on macro photography with diffuser. I still struggle to be honest with manual settings on my flash.

Me too.... Jack. You need a feeling for the right setting but I also need a lot more practice to be honest.
