Laowa lenses

Hi. I saw impressive results when shooting with laowa lenses, are they really with money. I saw some lenses are like over $1000 which is huge amount for just a lens to shoot extreme macro. What else you ca shoot with these lenses apart from extreme macro?

I have the 60mm which focuses from 2:1 to infinity. I think the same applies to the 100mm and the 100mm also has a coating to eliminate chromatic aberration. That said, you should be able to shoot just about anything but must be mindful of the tight angles produced by these lenses.

All Laowa lenses offers great possibilities if you keep in mind that all of them are manual lenses. So focus stacking will need a lot of practice or a macro rail. I prefer fully automatically lenses like the 100mm macro from Canon for my focus bracketing function which is integrated in my EOS 90D.

To be honest I’m impressive with the quality, and if I’m not wrong , they are Chinese brand ?

As far as I know yes. This was the reason why I've decided to buy the 100mm lens from Canon if I've enough money.

i don’t really like manual lenses, as you might not shoot in a manual mode or shooting macro.

You have to keep in mind that auto focus can cause some shots to be out of focus. If your holding a camera free hand then you can sway back and forth. 50/50 chance of a shot being out of focus. With manual focus you will not have to worry about the lens changing the focus.

Is that related to laowa lenses? I don't have one yet. I'm using my Canon 100mm L f2.8 (haven't touched for a while). And so far the auto focus works OK. I don't know how laowa works, I heard that they are manual lenses.
