I love these guys when they come indoors. I can set them up in my home studio setting and discuss life's events. Afterwards, they are returned to where I find them. This is "silly" a friendly spider that lived in our back bathroom for a few weeks before Winter settled into our area.
Hello,
I have been in hibernation during winter here in Australia and busy with work so no post for a while, now that spring is here I have been out doing peacock spider spotting with my brother @Chavezshutter .
I have a few hundred pics of 5 different Maratus species, males and females...
Hi,
Peacock spider season is nearly over, not seeing as many as I have seen a few months ago but I was able to get some courtship behaviour in my last outing, this species is a bat-like peacock jumping spider (Maratus vespertilio) displaying for a female:
The female, however, does not appear...

Hi again,
Here are photos from another species I have found this year. This species is slightly smaller than the other maratus species I have found, they also tend to stay away from humans more than other species, getting a good photo on these tiny spiders was tricky. I hope to capture one of...
Hello,
This is the second species I have been lucky to find so far this year, it is a more colourful and more of a "traditional" peacock in terms of colours, hope you like it

It's been a while since I've posted, the cold season here was rather uninspiring and I had slowed down with my photography especially since lockdowns have been going on over here. Anyways, one positive thing has been that I can now travel within the 10km limit to local parks during...
