Photography of ants ... need some suggestions on how to enhance magnification

Best way to use extension tubes so that you can go closure as much as required with all the lenses. Using long lens will give you distance to shoot whereas shorter the lens will have go closer upto 2/3 inches. I hope you have seen my caterpillar shot with the drops which was taken very close to the subject with regards,
