Never heard about this lenses, are they some old fashion ?
These are 2 of the most popular portrait lenses made in former USSR. The kaleinar 5n has nikon f mount by default and ai s compability because it was designed for Kiev 19 and 20 series that used nikon f mount. It has also an optional m42 mount that is changed by the user / owner. The tair 11a is one of the most sharp 135mm USSR lenses and has 20 aperture blades. It has a pre adjustable aperture that work de-click and comes with m42 mount. There is also an optional nikon f mount that can replace the m42. It is not ais compatible.

Both of them are considered of the most successful and high performance USSR lenses of that time.

Me too Jack. Even Helios is new too me but maybe it's because I've started 2014 and only know the new lenses.

Well I will start a thread sometime for these lenses.

Some years ago my father owned more than 15 USSR lenses. We had the zenit 12 and 122 with the most of m42 lenses and the Kiev 19 with the nikon f mount Russian lenses plus a Kiev 60 medium format with some Russian lenses with pentacon 6 mount. But he gave them away at sometime I feel very frustrated. We had lenses that now cost more than 500 euros like the helios 40-2 85mm f1.5....

Anyway... Now it's now....

That will be great, feel free to start thread panos_adgr . What a shame, I would say that at least you can keep those lenses in your collections, you never know how much you can get for them in future on auction .

Interesting that such mostly unknown lenses have such a quality! Impressive!
